wELCOME Letter from the executive director

Welcome to Trinity Sober Living, LLC. My name is Michael Owens and I am the Founder and Executive Director. I am also a recovering alcoholic. My journey into this world of sobriety began more than 14 years ago when I was given a gift that I never want to throw away. Now, we want to help you discover that same gift I received, and cherish every day. Trinity Sober Living provides the most comprehensive after-treatment care in Illinois. Our Sober Homes are staffed 24/7 with a dedicated House Manager/Peer Recovery Coach. Our staff also includes a full-time Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and Sober Coach. There is a quote I've heard in recovery that sums up my experience with addiction, “Recovery didn’t open the gates of heaven to let me in. Recovery opened the gates of hell to let me out!”

Our goal at Trinity Sober Living is to help you find the life that you were meant to live. Our team has decades of real-life recovery from substance use disorder (SUD). We are passionate about assisting you in your recovery journey. I often hear the cry of helplessness and plea for assistance from people that have a family member who is an addict or alcoholic; I know firsthand that this is a family disease. The family heals as the alcoholic or addict gets sober and recovers. Recovery is not always easy and there will likely be bumps in the road. Our motivation is to significantly help increase your chances of long-term recovery through Structure, Accountability and Support.

Over the years I have witnessed many miracles of recovery including my own. I have seen how the Grace of a Higher Power, the community of 12-Step programs, and the Trinity philosophy can help recreate a life that is happy, joyous, and free. At Trinity Sober Living we strive to provide an environment for success. We only admit clients that are dedicated to our philosophy and the goal of long-lasting sobriety. “Recovery is not for people who need it, it’s for people who want it!”

Thank you for considering Trinity Sober Living.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe in the inherent worth and goodness of every addict and alcoholic.
Picture
At Trinity, our philosophy is built on three important tenets for successful long-term recovery:
Structure, Accountability and Support.

Structure

Beginning a program of recovery after receiving treatment for substance use disorder isn’t always easy. There will be times when you may feel like giving up, when thoughts of drinking or using are especially strong, or when you might feel like a failure. Therefore, it is important to have a structured system and routine in place to keep you on the right track. Taking healthy and intentional steps to develop a sober lifestyle will ensure that you have the support you need.

Accountability

Accountability is one of the main things we need in order to live a life of health and total freedom. Having people in our lives who hold us accountable for our thoughts and actions prove to be extremely helpful and keep our focus on the things that matter. For an individual in recovery, what is truly important is an addiction-free life. Honesty and accountability play a vital role in this process.

Support

A support system is a network of people who provide an individual with practical, emotional and spiritual support that they can rely on to stay clean and sober. Your support system or community may be comprised of people from your 12 Step Recovery Group, family, close friends, or a combination thereof. It’s important to know that while you can and should do a great deal on your own, a support system can make early recovery much easier. People who spend time living with other sober people after treatment are more likely to maintain their sobriety and build a strong program of recovery.
